Many times in business, the thought of expanding comes up. It’s common for business owners to realise they are not making enough profit so the need to venture into new markets/products arises. Another reason for expansion is to keep up with competitors.

1. Expansion Incurs Cost:

We all know that expansion will cost money as growing a business means investing in said business.

2. There Are Risks Involved:

Risks in business are inevitable and an one side of the coin of expansion is that risks will be met. The other side of the coin, however is that these risks could be worth it.

3. You May Need More Hands On Deck:

With expansions come an increased workload which may require you hiring more staff. Doing this of course, means higher amounts of salaries to be paid. On the other hand, being understaffed after an expansion puts pressure on your staff. Would you be able to afford hiring more staff? Could your current staff handle an increased workload?
