A Business Re-brand? When To Go For It!

"Rebranding can shift a customer’s view of a brand and also show a company‘s progression with an evolving market"

Embarking on re-branding your business should not be looked at as something negative neither should you feel like you are a failure simply because you have decided to go down this route. More businesses than you would imagine have opted for a fresh look and strategy at some point! Now the question is when is the right time to give your business that re-brand push? We’ve posed some questions to guide you on knowing when it’s time for a sprucing up! 1. Have Your Business Strategies Changed? It is very possible for your business goals and strategies to be different from what they were when you first started. If this is the case for you, then re-branding at this point might be just what your business needs.

Business goals must align with your brand message and how it is perceived by your clients. 2. Does Your Business Need A New Look? Your brand is not your business name alone but also your logo, tagline and aesthetic identity as a whole. For example, Television Continental (TVC) rebranded last year. Viewers had expressed that the channel’s look was outdated and dull so they decided to update the brand’s entire identity!

3. Has Your Business Expanded? Has your business moved from one geographical location to another location? Has it expanded and now has more outlets? If yes, congratulations! A re-brand may be in order. This will support retaining your business presence and assure customers that your expansion is of great benefit to them. 4. Are You Targeting A New Audience of Customers? Sometimes in business, the need for change comes. You may find yourself attracting a different demographic which might lead to new or additional products. Re-branding in this case helps to redefine your business in order to meet the needs of your new audience. Rebranding can shift a customer’s view of a brand. It can also show a company‘s progression with an evolving market and attract new customers which increases sales. Some companies that rebranded recently are EbonylifeTV, Lindaikeji TV, Womenswear brand, Woora and a host of others.
