5 Business Mistakes to Avoid at the Start of the Year!

"The best investments you can make towards your business in 2019 are the ones you make right from the start"

Can you believe it’s 2019 already!? What are your business goals for this year? We certainly want to end 2019 on a high note and so we need to take steps towards achieving business success right from the start. At BSU, you know we are all about simplifying and focusing on helping you with information and resources to help your business succeed. So here are 5 Business Mistakes to Avoid at the Start of the Year. 1. Do Not Have a Build It And They Will Come Attitude: As a business owner, you have come up with an idea or a solution in terms of a service but that doesn’t necessarily mean you automatically gain customers. You need to put yourself out there, you need to network to promote your business. You need to know what branding is best suited for your business type and what marketing strategy will generate the best results. 2. Picking The Wrong Team: Having the right team members will boost the business morale. It’s a new year, so it’s time to re-evaluate your team. Are they in sync with the business vision? Are they on the same frequency as you are? Carefully choose team members with the right skill set that will help the growth of your business. 3. Ignoring Competition: Do not ignore competitors, DON’T DWELL on competition, but definitely DON’T OVERLOOK them. Research competitors price points, added value they offer customers, what makes their business successful and what added benefits you can offer customers. 4. Planning For Only Success: At the start of every business, the plan is to succeed, but knowing things may not always go according to plan is important, that way you are prepared for the unexpected if it does happen. Always have a contingency plan for delivering or producing your service, so if the unexpected eventually happens, you are able to recover quickly and ensure business doesn’t come to a halt. 5. Delegating Tasks: Get everyone working, we know you can do it all by yourself ( ‘cos entrepreneurs are super human!), but it will help you and the business if you delegate tasks. You may be the brain of the business; but that does not mean you have the ability to carry out all the tasks. Having the necessary hands will help with your business growth. The best investments you can make towards your business in 2019 are the ones you make right from the start. Get the right resources, do a lot of research and planning, remember you can’t run a successful business without a plan.

Wishing you the very best of 2019!
